BTC Company will, as a years-long sponsor and supporter of the Ski jumping club Ljubno BTC, support the organisation of the competition in the first ski jumping women’s edition of World cup, which will take place in February 2012. A successful realisation of the World cup is a prerequisite which the International Olympic Committee (IOC) set for women ski jumpers in order to allow them to compete at Winter Olympic Games in Sochi in 2014. Slovenian female ski jumpers have competed successfully in summer Continental Cup competitions, as Maja Vtič won and came third in the two competitions up till now, and is currently the leading female ski jumper in the world.

BTC Company gives special attention to socially responsible activities with which the company contributes to greater good for the entire social community. With this BTC Company supports numerous projects and institutes from different social fields. BTC has been the general sponsor of SSK Ljubno BTC and of its members, among which is also Primož Pikl, a member of the Slovenian national A team. BTC is also a six times general sponsor of the Continental Cup of female ski jumping.

Female members of the ski jumping national team have had great success in this year’s start of the summer Continental Cup in ski jumping. Maja Vtič has won the first competition and came in third in the second and is therefore the leading female ski jumper in the world.

Ljubno ob Savinji started with intensive preparations for the organisation of the competition as part of the first women’s World cup of ski jumping, which will take place in February 2012. At the beginning of 2011 the International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided to include women’s ski jumping into the Winter Olympics programme, if female ski jumpers took part in a sufficient number of international competitions. Female ski jumpers will compete in the World cup already in the next season, with one of the competitions being held in Ljubno ob Savinji. The president of BTC Management Board, Jože Mermal, will have the honorary function of the president of the World Cup committee.
