The BTC Novo mesto subsidiary has donated SIT 400,000 for a special car for a Novo mesto grammar school pupil who is paraplegic. <\/strong><\/P>

The BTC Novo mesto subsidiary decided to donate funds for humanitarian purposes instead of spending money on Christmas cards and business gifts from 2003 onwards. This year it has decided to donate funds to the Paraplegic Society of the Dolenjska, Bela krajina and Posavje regions (Dru\u0161tvo paraplegikov Dolenjske, Bele krajine in Posavja<\/I>), namely to Mija Punger\u0161i\u010d, a Novo mesto grammar school pupil. <\/strong><\/P>

Mija is an excellent pupil but since becoming paraplegic she has been dependent on the help of others, mostly her parents and relatives. Her wish to attend one of Slovenia’s university centres after matriculating from the Novo mesto grammar school could not have been realised without means of transport – her own car. The BTC Novo mesto subsidiary and Dru\u0161tvo paraplegikov <\/I>started fund-raising and, today, Mija Punger\u0161i\u010d owns her own car. <\/P>

The BTC company’s mission is to develop, lead, invest in and manage regions that offer business, commercial, entertainment and sports opportunities and to develop logistics and distribution channels. Within this mission there is also room for understanding people, especially the handicapped and neglected. BTC has named its humanitarian deeds ‘\u0161irina duha<\/I>’ (the breadth of spirit). <\/P>

In March this year BTC held its 50th<\/SUP> anniversary in which it celebrated the constant growth of the company. The celebration was named ‘mladostni polet pri petdesetih<\/I>’ (youthfulness at the age of 50). Mija celebrated her 18th<\/SUP> birthday on 2 January this year and is preparing herself for her ‘matura<\/I>’ (matriculation). BTC wishes her a happy birthday, success in her matriculation and further studies and that her car offers her safe and beneficial support. <\/P>
