The natural disaster which has devastated Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia over the last couple of days has brought horrific damage to the local people. The recovery from the floods and landslides is expected to take several months. The BTC Company is aware of the vastness of this natural disaster. Therefore BTC has decided to help out the local people by transferring financial funds to the Red Cross of Slovenia.
The BTC Company has quickly reacted to the current situation in Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Serbia. The latest information show that a surface area bigger than that of Slovenia is already flooded, since the high flooding waters cover more than 22,900 square kilometres of land. Millions of people are directly affected by this elementary disaster of great dimensions, thus the BTC Company decided on offering financial aid by transferring funds to the Red Cross of Slovenia, which should help all those who need help the most as quickly as possible. <\/P>
The President of BTC Management Board, Jo\u017ee Mermal, said: “The BTC Company has decided to help all people in need, affected by this horrific natural disaster in the Balkans. With our financial aid we wish to help recover people in those areas faster. We also want to encourage fellow business partners and other Slovene companies as well as all Slovenes to contribute to relief efforts in the best way possible. We should all give praise to numerous institutions and individuals, who donated money, materials and services, and have thereby already shown compassion towards all suffering from this natural disaster.”<\/P>
