The Safe Cycling programme, which has been supported by the BTC company since its inception, encouraged young people to participate in traffic safely and actively for the ninth year in a row this year, bringing together over 10,000 students from 140 Slovenian primary schools. With the help of innovative, thematic and fun tasks, the students familiarised themselves with road traffic regulations, prepared for safe road traffic participation with interesting cycling activities, and also competed to win attractive practical and monetary awards.

Despite the challenging circumstances, the participating schools managed to perform the project tasks with a great deal of ingenuity. They’ve all done an excellent job and successfully raised the students’ awareness of an issue as important as traffic safety. In addition to raising awareness of the importance of traffic safety, the programme also focused on the importance of the bike as a sustainable mode of transportation and encouraged young people to spend their free time being physically active.
