On the 20th anniversary of sports in independent Slovenia, the president of the Slovenian Olympic Academy, Miroslav Cerar, and the president of BTC Management Board, Jože Mermal, opened the exhibition of copies of Olympic medals won by Slovenian athletes at the Olympic games from 1912 onwards. The exhibition is on display on the ground floor of the Crystal palace. Part of the exhibition is also the copy of the first medal won by Rudolf Cvetko at the Summer Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912.

The exhibition, which was accompanied by performances of gymnast Sašo Bertoncelj on the pommel horse and Zala Dornig with her performance in rhythmic gymnastics, includes five showcases, comprising photographs of athletes as well as copies of Olympic medals. Showcases are embellished with badges from all Olympic Games and the presentation of different periods of Slovenian sports and Olympism.

The exhibition is free of charge and can be visited until 5 January 2012 in the Crystal palace.

The exhibition was organized by the Slovenian Olympic Academy and BTC Company, which is a long-time partner of the Slovenian Olympic Committee and the Slovenian Olympic Academy.

BTC Company is also the main sponsor of the World Cup competition in women ski jumping, which will take place on 11 and 12 February 2012 in Ljubno ob Savinji. Ljubno ob Savinji is one of the six venues of the first season of women’s ski jumping World Cup. Jože Mermal, the president of BTC Management Board, is the honorary president of the women’s World Cup committee. The realisation of World Cup competitions is a precondition for women athletes to compete in ski jumping at the next Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014.
