At the closing gala ceremony of the traditional, already the 23rd Slovenian Advertising Festival (SOF) the awards for the best advertising projects were presented in 12 different categories. Among the award-receivers was also the BTC Company, which was presented with the Grand Prix Award (the Big Gold Award) in the category Creative use of media for the project “From Cycling Tracks to the Marathon”. The Slovenian Advertising Festival, which is the main event of the Slovene advertising community, is organized by the Slovenian Advertising Chamber.

BTC has been the general sponsor of Marathon Franja BTC City for many years. The aim of the awarded advertising campaign in 2013 was to innovatively challenge and invite citizens to take part in the marathon, while raising awareness on the importance of the event and cycling among the people of Ljubljana. To appeal to the public the event organizers put markings on the most popular cycling routes in the city centre.

Upon receiving the award Maja Oven, the Director of Market Communications and Public Relations Sector, said:”The BTC Company is a proud supporter of cycling. It makes us happy that others have also noticed our efforts in this field. The Gold award at the Slovenian Advertising Festival for the project “From cycling tracks to the marathon” is sort of recognition that we are on the right track and encourages us to take on more cycling challenges in the future. This year we will contribute to two important cycling projects – Marathon Franja BTC City as co-organizers with KD Rog and the World Amateur Cycling Championship.”

The BTC Company has for many years supported the development of cycling in Slovenia. From 2003 the BTC Company has been the main sponsor of the international cycling marathon Marathon Franja BTC City. In 2014 the Company is among the sponsors of the World Amateur Cycling Championship, which will take place in August in Ljubljana. Alongside the City Municipality of Ljubljana, the Company was also one of the two main supporters in forming the first Slovene professional women’s cycling team, BTC City Ljubljana.
