On the weekend of 27 and 28 January 2024, Ljubno ob Savinji will host the already 13th FIS Ski Jumping Women’s World Cup. Women’s ski jumping fans will be able to cheer on more than 60 fearless competitors from 16 countries, whose successful seasons so far promise exceptional jumps, live in-person or via TV broadcast. The competitions beneath the Rajhovka hill will be accompanied by exciting accompanying events with special activities planned for kids.

Ljubno ob Savinji, the cradle of women’s ski jumping, will once again be the place to be on the last weekend of January. After Friday’s official training and qualifying rounds, the ski jumpers will take to the competition rounds on Saturday and Sunday, 27 and 28 January 2024. On the first competition day, the action will start at 10:15 with the trial round, followed by the opening ceremony and the first and final competition rounds. On Sunday, the action will start at 9:30 with the qualifying, followed by the opening ceremony and the first and final second-day competition rounds.

In addition to cheering for the brave ski jumpers, fans will also be able to get food and drinks in the event marquee and enjoy the accompanying programme there. Children will be able to give ski jumping a try at the Mini Planica and play in the snow in the Kids’ Fun Park, which will feature a heated tent, a bouncy castle, entertainment activities and free “šmorn” (shredded pancakes).

As Rajko Pintar, Chairman of the Ljubno 2024 Organising Committee, pointed out before the event, “The organisers are eagerly awaiting the start of this year’s FIS Ski Jumping Women’s World Cup in Ljubno. We are proud that we have managed to organise it despite the initial difficulties when preparing for the 2023/2024 ski jumping season, due to the floods that devastated this region in August last year and damaged the ski jumping hill. A big thank you goes to all the members of the Organising Committee, volunteers and supporters of ski jumping in Ljubno. The current weather conditions already allow for snowmaking, so the ski jumping hill will definitely be ready to host amazing jumps by the best female ski jumpers in the world by the time the event takes place. We are confident that we can look forward to a great competition, with even more spectators than last year, who will be taken care of by the organising team and a supporting team of more than 200 volunteers. We’ll be happy to see you join us!

Sports fans can already buy tickets for the FIS Ski Jumping Women’s World Cup in Ljubno at Eventim ticket offices, petrol stations and online. Both competitions will also be broadcast live on RTV Slovenija. For more information about the event, visit https://ljubno-skoki.si/.

Ljubno ob Savinji, which, as the host of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, contributes significantly to the development of Slovenian women’s ski jumping, was not spared by the floods and landslides that hit Slovenia in August 2023. Anyone who would like to support the flood recovery effort and help the people of the Upper Savinja Valley with a donation can do so by texting LJUBNO5 or LJUBNO10 to 1919.
