At the meeting on 23rd December 2013 the BTC d.d. Supervisory Board passed a resolution to appoint new members of the Company Management, since the mandate of the current four members expires in May 2014. The Supervisory Board has appointed the following members of the Management for the mandate period May 2014 – May 2019: Jože Mermal as the President of the Management, Helena Petrin as the Secretary General, Damjan Kralj, MSc as the Marketing Director and Rajko Čvorovič as the Financial Director of the Company.

The Supervisory Board resolution on appointing new members of the Management is based on the company’s strategy for the period 2014 – 2020. The strategy was passed by the Supervisory Board in October 2013 and it includes the company’s ambitious goals which will bring more focus to the marketing function that has not been represented in the Management until now. The company’s strategy anticipates another business take-off and the upgrading of the existing business with new contents, dynamic and ambitious market presence, new organisational approaches and intensive innovative processes. In the 2014 Business Plan the Management looks for an 8 % increase in income, 20 % higher employment rate and 6 million EUR in new investments. The management representative in the marketing field, Damjan Kralj, MSc, has been a part of the company since 2007, when he was appointed the Director of BTC City Ljubljana and later on also of the shopping centres in Murska Sobota and in Novo mesto. Responsibilities of the financial field will be given to Rajko Čvorovič, a financial expert who helped classify the BTC shares onto the London stock exchange market and who possesses the adequate knowledge and experience from the field of finances.

The appointment of the new Management for the next mandate will replace the BTC’s previous Management, the four members of which have been in the same position for 20 years; Jože Mermal, the President, and the members Helena Petrin, Marko Žehelj and Andrej Repina. This long-time unchanged Management, an exception within the Slovenian business milieu, has left a great trail of success during the last 20 years as the company’s constant investments resulted in a radical business transformation, successful economic growth and urban spatial reform, representing one of the largest European business, shopping, entertainment, recreational and cultural centres – the BTC City.
