On Friday and Saturday, 18 and 19 October 2019, BTC Cities in Ljubljana, Murska Sobota and Novo mesto hosted the 32^nd Festival of Shopping and Fun. On both days, it provided over 170,000 visitors with numerous opportunities to shop at favourable prices, taste delicious dishes and explore surprising offers. Fun adventures for all generations were nicely supplemented by the accompanying programme that took place at different venues and represented a special treat for the youngest lovers of sweets.

As per tradition, the Festival of Shopping and Fun takes place in BTC Cities every spring and autumn and entices fashion enthusiasts and fans of fun and adventures. Besides BTC City providers offering big discounts, organisers make visiting BTC City during the Festival a very special experience.

Adventures for visitors of all ages in BTC City Ljubljana

This year’s Festival in BTC City Ljubljana once again put to the foreground the kids’ programme, as they discovered a vivid adventure world in which magic and cuisine intertwined. The stage was home to culinary shows, cook-offs and live cooking, while in front of the stage kids enjoyed numerous fun and creative workshops. The magical culinary experience was supplemented by the educational path in Shopping Arena A, where kids answered topical questions, winning a spin of the wheel of fortune after providing correct answers, which with some luck led to practical prizes. They gained new knowledge at free-of-charge Lingula fairy tale hours and at workshops learning the Chinese language. Children day care was organised in the Football House of Fun, where kids were animated, while parents were able to enjoy their shopping sprees.

At the square Trg mladih, the autumn country party took place, where visitors enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere and played the fun animation game Hammer. In its corner, the optician’s Optika Clarus offered a free-of-charge eyesight test, while only a few steps away in front of their store a DJ was in charge of creating a great atmosphere for the visitors.

The inviting smell of bread, baked goods and other delicious dishes spread across BTC City

On Saturday, the lower floor of the Emporium Hall hosted the Festival of Bread and Baked Goods. A lot of lovers of naturally prepared bread and baked goods with yeast turned up for the festival, which reached its climax with the MasterClass Workshop with the current world champion in making Neapolitan pizzas and one of the best bakers in the world, David Argentino. Visitors of the Culinary Park at the southern end of the BTC City Market enjoyed excellent dishes and the entertaining atmosphere conjured by DJs with excellent music played from vinyl records.

Fun atmosphere also in BTC Cities Murska Sobota and Novo mesto

On Friday and Saturday, BTC Cities Murska Sobota and Novo mesto were also treated to their fair share of discounts and fun adventures. On Friday in Murska Sobota, the youngest enjoyed a kids’ show by Dejan Krajnc, known also as Poskočni Dejan (“Jumping Dejan”). The music did not die out on Saturday, as already in the morning the students of Mikk’s guitar workshop performed, while in the afternoon, visitors were able to dance to the songs by Tanja Žagar. It was also very lively in the evening, as Čili Bar & Club organised the Festival of Shopping and Fun After-party with the tambura group Lajk.

On Friday in BTC City Novo mesto, kids enjoyed the show Žabji kralj (“Frog King”) and sweet treats in culinary workshops. On Saturday, visitors were treated to musical performances by Tilen Lotrič, the finalist of the show Slovenia’s Got Talent, Ditka and Glasbena dejavnost TINA. Kids enjoyed the performance by Klovn Jaka, as exquisite aromas from the culinary event with Anže Kuplenik, winner of MasterChef Slovenia 2019, spread across the city.
