On Saturday, February 26, the new WOOP! centre opened in BTC City Murska Sobota. This is the first WOOP! outside Ljubljana, where it is already a recognised and popular place for entertainment and fun in the company of friends. WOOP! will bring even more variety to the Murska Sobota shopping centre, making it the active leisure destination for all generations and tastes not only in Murska Sobota but the Pomurje region at large.

The new WOOP! centre in Murska Sobota, which covers a surface area of 1,200 square metres in Shopping Arena A, is about to welcome adventure-seeking visitors with different adrenaline-filled, sporty and fun activities. Both adults and kids can have an awesome time in the escape rooms, the laser tag arena, playing virtual reality games and tackling WOOP! challenges. WOOP! challenges in particular are a new feature, which will see its premier launch in Murska Sobota – it is the ultimate team game, where competitors face 20 different challenges that require skill, speed and logical thinking.

“At the BTC Company, we know that visitors like to return to our centres because of the wide variety of content on offer, which is regularly updated and upgraded, which again further solidifies the centres’ position as the best places for a combination of shopping, cuisine and entertainment. We recognised the great potential of WOOP!, with which we share a love of sports and active leisure, years ago already. We were sure that WOOP! could bring a special kind of added value to BTC City Ljubljana and we’re excited that our strategic partnership has found continued success as proven by the fact that WOOP! has chosen precisely BTC City Murska Sobota as their first location outside Ljubljana,” said Damjan Kralj, M. Sc., CEO of the BTC Company, at the opening.

The official opening was also attended by Miha Horvat, Director of BTC City Murska Sobota, who said: “I’m very happy to welcome WOOP! to our centre, which will provide our visitors with new adventures in the company of friends, filling them with energy, adrenaline and childlike playfulness. We have definitely been missing this type of entertainment in our region, so I’m confident that our visitors will be excited about it, especially active young families and teenagers.”

WOOP! has had a presence in Slovenia since 2017, when it opened the first and largest trampoline park in Slovenia (covering a surface area of 3,500 square metres) on the Leskoškova cesta road near BTC City Ljubljana. In 2020, it expanded to BTC City Ljubljana, where it opened the first multi-level karting centre in Slovenia. A year later, it further expanded with the WOOP! ARENA, today one of the most attractive state-of-the-art entertainment centres in Europe.

At the opening, Miran Razoršek, co-founder and CEO of TPLJ, said: “In 2020, we found the right strategic partner in the BTC Company, who encouraged us to start a new activity and continue to grow and develop regardless of the uncertainty and restrictions imposed during the pandemic. The decision to invest in a WOOP! centre in Murska Sobota wasn’t easy. It was only after becoming closely familiar with this region’s potential with the help of the BTC Company’s leadership and the representatives of the local community that we recognised the opportunity presented by Prekmurje and how our centre could contribute to expanding the tourism offer available in the area, furthering regional development. I’m grateful to the BTC Company’s leadership for their exceptional support and trust exhibited on our common journey so far. We can’t wait to share the WOOP! energy and adventures with visitors in and to this region.”

The BTC Company invested over a million euros in the opening of the Murska Sobota WOOP! centre. The opening coincides with BTC City Murska Sobota’s conceptual renovation, aimed at transcending the boundaries of being merely a shopping centre and upgrading it with attractive leisure activities. More than that, the new active entertainment centre is not an important acquisition just for BTC City, but for the entire city of Murska Sobota, the greater Pomurje region and beyond. With its uniqueness and popularity, it is sure to attract visitors from the border towns of Slovenia’s neighbouring countries Austria, Hungary and Croatia.
